A new chapter begins for Laurent Duvernay-Tardif

It’s been an emotionally charged week for our co-founder, Laurent, who officially announced his retirement from professional sports after eight seasons in the NFL. The entire Foundation team would like to sincerely congratulate him on his outstanding athletic, academic, and philanthropic achievements, which have inspired both young and old alike.

Whether through his victory at Super Bowl LIV in 2020 or his remarkable compassion during the COVID-19 pandemic, Laurent has consistently demonstrated courage and dedication, both in the world of sports and in his community.

After signing his first contract with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2017, he co-founded the LDT Foundation alongside Florence-Agathe. It presented them with the perfect opportunity to share their passion for art and sports with students, giving them access to activities that facilitate educational success.

During the next few months, Laurent will be able to devote even more time to the Foundation and the 6th Period, an initiative that is very dear to him. This unique program is geared towards third cycle elementary school students and combines art and sports to promote curiosity, fun, compassion, and personal growth. It truly embodies Laurent and Florence’s commitment, all for the benefit of Quebec’s youth.

Congratulations, once again, on your remarkable career, Laurent. We are already looking forward to what lies ahead and consider ourselves fortunate to have you with us!
